The Russian Tea Room offers Peace from the rush of Chicago streets. Review is only for a filling snack.
Sit for formal Tea Service or a pot of your own. Russian Tea Room offerers full lunches and dinner too.
Opt for the Tea Platters of Finger Sandwiches with sweet baked treats and Scones. A few, I felt needed more fillings.
I'll attest to their Borscht being the best I've eaten of the hundereds of food reviews I have made. Wishing I had more time to get back for dinner.
The classical music is soothing and their staff is friendly. The cozy booths and interiors are reminiscent of traditional tea rooms.
This Restaurant is a must! The many nationalities partaking for a full lunch indicates an appreciative authentic experience.
I went here on a Thursday night after going to the art institute. I was feeling a little under the weather and thought some borscht would help me feel better! The borscht was outstanding. The cabbage roll with kasha was very simple and delicious. The horseradish vodka was so good that I bought a bottle to take home! I slept like a baby and woke up perfectly well! My server was so nice and helpful. I hope to go back on a future visit.
Honestly, this place is amazing. We got the queen tea service with both savories and sweets for $69 and it was stellar. It was an incredible value for two diners WITH tea and we were extremely satisfied with the amount of food! Excellent Ukrainian lagers available as well and fun cocktails, and awesome service, this place has it all!
I guess it’s sort of an iconic spot to go before hitting anything at Symphony Center. Lives up for that status for sure.
Food - be prepared to try something new and weird. We got the caviar service and some traditional mains.
Drink - really interesting menu, specializes in vodka and wish I could’ve handled more on that front. I would stick with simple cocktails, wine, and their vodka service.
Service - excellent! Quick and attentive.
Cute eatery idea with delicious assortment of European food and great service.
The servers were on top of it with timely service, etc. Vegetarian friendly with well marked options. The vegetarian assortment platter is fantastic for a variety of tasty vegetable spreads. The Beet Crepe with mushrooms is amazing. Their desserts are
Russian Tea Time was a fantastic and fun experience. The food was delicious, atmosphere and decor lovely. The infused vodkas also great! We got the Russian Tea Time Platter for two which features a sampling of some of their best sides, entrees and vegetables, highly recommend.
The food was really good and the tea sandwiches. We did the queen service whic comes with more items such as crepes. We did a walk-in at 4pm and got seated right away. When we were leaving, the restaurant was packed so luckily we got there early.
We also brought our 1 year old, I don't think they had high chairs so we left her in the stroller. They had a nice variety of kids items and we got her buttered pasta with cheese. They do have a baby changing station in the restroom which is convenient if you're a mom like me 😊.
The service got slower once more people arrived but it was overall a nice experience for afternoon tea.
I loved the place, especially because of its ambiance, very cozy and warm place, I had a feeling that I was in an art gallery and taking tea. House tea and Napoleon cake were really good, potato daplings I guess could be better though service was excellent. Next time, I would like try tea set with 'samovar'. And I loved their classic music selection.
